It is a very rare and glorious sight to see a Sri Lankan tuskers in the wild. This young tusker will have a tough time ahead to reach the adulthood (mainly to do to human interventions) and also to continue the legacy of magnificent tusker population of Sri Lankan tuskers.
Sri Lankan tuskers are facing great danger from porches as
they killed in search of ivory. Only 7% of male elephants in Sri Lanka grow tusks,
and at present only 2% of the total elephant population are tuskers.
