Sri Lankan sloth bear coming down from a Palu tree at Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. Slightly open mouth showing the tree trunk behind him appearing as the teeth of the bear making it looks like he is smiling for some reason :)
The Sri Lankan sloth bear with its black shaggy coat and heavy
build is often spotted in several of Sri Lanka’s National Parks especially in Yala and Wilpattu where there is
undisturbed forest growth.
Sloth Bears main food source is insects
and have a specially adapted lower lip and palate for gathering their food. They mainly consume termites, bee
